How to be able to fly?

Did you ever want to be able to fly?
Well you now can, if you follow these steps to make a "Magic Potion!" Just try it and then you will "Be away flying with the fairies."

You will need:

  • 13 Pink rose petals

  • 3 Sprays of Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck Perfume
  • 3 Bird feathers

  • 2 Sprinkles of sugar ( I recommend 2 sprinkles or it will all go wrong )

  • 1 Piece of bread

  • 3 cups of melted chocolate

  • 5 hairs from your Best Friend

  • One bird beak ( Preferably not a native bird )

  • 3 Boysenberries

  • One cup of Coca Cola

  • A Firkin ( Another word for a Cauldron )

  • 2 cups of boiling hot water

  • 10 Baby bottles with the soft and squishy lids

Side Effects:
  • Not be able to get down from flying
  • Feel like bouncing around the place
  • You might get sun burnt all over
  • You might start chirping like a bird
  • Birds could be attracted to you

Steps:
  1. First you need to collect your list of what you will need

  1. Dump all of your ingredients in your Firkin (except for the Baby Bottles and the Hot Water)

  1. Pour in the hot water and mix it all up until it is smooth and runny.

  1. Now pour it equally into the 10 baby bottles.

  1. Put the 10 bottles into the fridge for 24 hours.

  1. Once the 24 hours are up you may now get them out of the fridge.

  1. Now they have to be put in the microwave for 13 seconds ( Just for a little bit of warmth to make it better )

  1. You now can have one bottle to sip on for as long as you like

  1. Once you have drank one bottle, you then will feel a tingle and then a KAPPOW!

  1. What just happened, means that it has worked correctly

  1. Now you should be able to fly, if you can’t then you might need to restart or re-trace your steps to see where you went wrong.

  1. Now you may enjoy your time to be able to fly

Extra things that you might like to know about the potion:
  • Use one bottle at a time for the full excitement of being able to fly
  • One bottle will last 1 month
  • Say ‘uppy’ to go up and fly for as long as you like and say ‘downy ‘to go down and be able to walk like a normal human being

Free Flying Lessons!

Hello I am Felicity and I am here to talk to you about flying lessons!
It is pretty quick and easy so lets get started!

First you need to find a bird and ask him/her how they cope with flying around and what are some good tips.
Then you should be able to have a quick flying lesson from the bird.
Now you need to try and do it by your self.
If the bird says that you  have completed your task you may go and fly with the birds and the fairies!
I HOPE THAT YOU WILL ENJOY YOUR TIME FLYING WITH THE BIRDS AND FAIRIES!

I am Poem And Art!

I am Sporty, Funny, Friendly, Smart. I am in love with animals. I am a young leader, dancer, gymnast and an artist. I am a daughter. I AM ME AND THATS WHO I'LL BE!

It is that time of year once again. When we have to start doing our calender art for 2013. In room 20 we are doing are type of art where you can choose any colours that you would like to choose. Get an A4 piece of paper and draw some wavy lines that can go off the page for a good effect. Then you get your colours and paint the wavy lines in a pattern or just in your own way. Then once it has dried you have to get a black sharpie pen and outline the wavy bits so then it stands out much better. Now you have to use that black sharpie pen to write down a poem that is describing stuff about you and what you like. As you can see above is my poem. Also below is my art that I will be doing for my calender art for 2012's calender.
If you would like you can try this, it is lots of fun and is very enjoyable!

Pass The Blog

Production Team 5 from Johnstones on Vimeo.
Night Number One
The excitement is running through the air, I can feel it running up my spine. It is going around everyone.
Well tonight is our first performance in front of a live audience. I am so excited, I have all of my costumes here in room 3. All of the Kapa Haka group are playing hand games, getting their makeup done. Then Mali our instructor and Teeps the guitar player walk in and say that they could hear us from the hall, which is bad because our audience were entering the hall. I was so eager to start. Then it was time. Time to line up outside in the cold, with wet puddles and the slight sign of grey rain clouds in the night sky. My feet were frozen, my toes were like icicles. As for the rest of the group, I think they were cold to. Then the door opened all I could think of was. “ Time to go on stage. “ But sadly no we were getting told off for being so loud. Then at long last the door swung open and nearly hit me in the face. It was time. Our time to shine in front of everyone. Once we had gone through our three songs and one Haka, we left the stage to get into our next costumes. I had to get into my white top and black shorts, with makeup all ready for my Locomotion dance and wearable arts. So here I am  waiting behind the curtain. Then it was the Green Is Gold play. They finished with a rap/song. That was when all of the wearable arts people went to go and get changed into our costumes. Then after waiting for the third dance group, we all entered the back of the hall ready to ‘ strut our style ‘ down the aisle and around the stage. It was so much fun showing off my costume to the audience. Next I had to take my wearable arts costume off. Then Erin and Thea come rushing in to make sure that Thea can get dressed and get all of her makeup on ready for our Locomotion dance. Once Thea was dressed and had all of her makeup on we were out the door rushing over to the door that is behind the curtain. Just as we arrive we had about 3 minutes until we were on. Doing Locomotion was awesome, the group had so much fun. Then Erin, Thea and I all run off and get our leggings and Rock ‘n’ Roll skirts on already for our time to boogie on stage. Wow, I was getting tired by the time we were arriving at the door ‘ AGAIN. ‘ Now that we are doing our Rock ‘n’ Roll in front of everyone with the choir singing all over the place, I think that I am almost ready to call it a night. But sadly no I still have choir number two that I have to perform in and I also have another three nights. Along with the rest of team 5 students I have a feeling that we are very excited to finally have this show up and running, but by the end of the week I am sure that we are going to be very, very, VERY tired!

Here is my Tree of life, but Mr.M said to call it the Tree of PRIDE. All of my symbols represent what I find enjoyable and what I like in my life. The first Tree of life was made my a guy called Klimt. It was a great design and it has inspired many people like Room 20. I have animal symbols which represents that I like animals. The picture of New Zealand represents that I like New Zealand. The maths symbols represent that I LOVE maths. All of my symbols are a great and enjoyable part of my life.

Reflection On Olympic Wheel Day

Reflection Olympic Wheel Day
· Something I was pleased with was how well TUI worked as a team and tried their very best, because it was my first real House competition being a house leader.

· I really enjoyed learning how the seniors and the middle school work in different ways to try and get a placing, because now I know for further house comps what I am going into.

· Something I found hard was trying to get my team to listen to my instructions and having to talk over the wind.

· Something that made me think was will TUI try their very best and get us a good placing, because I knew that TUI team 1 & 2 TUI team that I was working with were doing well, but were the other TUI teams doing well with the Sport pals.

· Something I want to get better at is communicating to the rest of the team a little better.
(What can I do about it?) Talk to them in a type of way that they understand more:)
Here is Tash and I running for our teams ( Kea and Tui ) Who do you think will win out of us two?

Here is me and half of the senior Tui team.

Julian trying to make sure that in will get a head start!

Me trying to win for our team.

Parkvale Live Production Diary

The Creation
Hello I am Felicity and today I found out that I was going to be in Wearable Arts for the senior production. “Parkvale Live. “ All that was going around in my head was what should I do for wearable arts. In about 10 minutes I had made my mind up. I was going to do a super hero cape, made from fabric. With a line of 3 chippie packets down the middle. On each side is fruit burst wrappers. They are only stapled on the top so then they can flick up like feathers on a bird. On the bottom half my name ( Flossie ) is painted with the Olympics. Blue, Red, Black, Green, Yellow. When I was at home and bored I decided to add some more fruit burst wrappers down below on the outline that was left bare at the bottom. I also thought that I better add a mask to make me look like a superhero.

Planning The Event
Today all of the senior school went to the hall to discuss more about the production and what is going to happen. As we were leaving the hall Erin ran up to me and asked me if I wanted to do Rock ‘n’ Roll with Tyrin while choir one sings “We Go Together “ I said sure. So now I am doing Choir, Kapa Haka, Wearable Arts and Rock ‘n’ Roll in the Parkvale Live Production.

A Little Tweak Here & A Little Tweak There
Today was so cool. We performed the whole production in front of the team 5 students and teachers. It was a long wait for it to finish, but it was spectacular, I love how the teachers have put it together. So Thank you teachers you have made this production AWESOME. I had Kapa Haka first up then I had Wearable Arts, I then had Rock ‘n’ Roll with Erin & Regan, Thea & Josh and me & Tyrin. After we had Rock ‘n’ Roll Erin and I had to go and sing for the small Choir. After that we were done. The reason why the day went for ever, is because we had to do fix ups and stops every now and then. I can’t wait till the end of the week where we will have a full dress rehearsal before the Monday night show in front of our family and friends.

Chilling Out Helping Others ( Day 4 )
Today we had to finish our Wearable Art designs. I had already finished it so I had to help the rest of the group. While we were doing this the other seniors were doing a bit of a run through and practise on stage without some of the group.

But Wait There's More
Today we had a run through of the whole Production. We only had the odd stop to say something that had to happen. We started from the very first act to the very last one. Then once we had finished and we were back in class, once again Erin came up to me to ask if I were able to do a dance with Thea, Olivia and herself for Emily and Raiha, in the background of them singing “Locomotion.” Our dance was made up in 15 minutes. The dance has got some pretty cool moves in it. It is funny and AWESOME.

The End Is Near
Today we did another run through of the whole production. It was lots of fun and it was Thea, Erin, Olivia and my first time performing our dance in front of the senior school and the teachers. It was fun, but after the production was finished we had a lot of practise to do. We also had Kapa Haka practise today in the afternoon. I even had Choir practise after the bell rang. We did great work with our practising.

Reflection on learning in room 20

I am halfway through my awesome year of learning in Room 20. How am I learning?

Some things that are different about this year are I have learnt how to do splitting in maths for timesing by big numbers.

Having a computer and Google account has helped me by finding out what different learning tools you can use for school work. Also having a google account is handy for emailing the teacher when you need some help on some work.

I like having a blog because I can share my learning with the world and get some lovely positive comments from my friends and family, even people from around the world like Paul Jennings. It makes me feel proud when I get a comment from my mum and dad.

I share my learning by either sharing a document with my Learning-Buddy or over my blog. I can also tell my Learning Buddy what I have done for any subject and ask if they need any help.

I help others by giving them some of my great words for writing or sharing my writing or giving them a comment on their doc.

I use ICT to help my learning in these ways, playing around on movie maker and experimenting.

I get feedback for my learning from Mr.M ( Teacher ) and My learning Buddy. They give me feedback by saying that it was well described, great verb and even more. This makes me know that I should keep up the great work in all of my other docs. It makes me feel proud of myself.

Things I am really proud of achieving in Room 20 are having a blog that I can share my work with the world and being awarded the following badges: Young Leader, House Leader and Academic Achiever. I am proud of myself for achieving those badges.

  • Maths: maths has helped me in a lot of different ways, E.G. I have improved on my times tables ( I am a lot faster at them ) I have learnt how to do a ‘ Beans Recipe. ‘

  • Reading: I have done a debate on Deer. I have had the chance to do a K.W.L Chart on Extraterrestrial. I have learnt how to do a literacy circle seeing as I have not done one before.

  • Writing: writing in room 20 is fun and enjoyable. I like that we get a writing choice every few days. I have improved on writing since last year. Last year I was a bit slow with my writing doing it by hand, but I have got better this year because I am a fast typer so I am quicker.

  • Art: I love art and I have been able to do a good amount that is fun, I am proud of my art so far.
    • Movie Maker: I love experimenting on movie maker, I have done a heap of cool videos.

Inferring-Rock And A Hard Place!

THE END: When I wake up in the morning, I realise he has.

I inferred that he chose to support both teams ( All Blacks & Springboks ), Fletcher ( cat ) kind of made him understand the meaning of ‘ A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE ’. From his colours, from the saying that you don’t have to choose between being ginger and being white.

I also inferred that if there was a 2nd version of that book ( A rock and a hard place ) it would be about the boy and him cheering for the 2 teams in the Rugby World Cup 2012.

THE START: “ It seems to me that you are stuck between a rock and a hard place,” says my rugby coach.

I inferred that his coach was trying to get him to support his new country, ( NZ ).

I know that he was using a saying to make it a little more fun and maybe tricky to understand what it means and it can also be when someone is stuck with something. It is called a lose-lose situation.

That his pet cat made him choose what team to go for and that he didn’t have to think really hard to try and choose what team to cheer for.

The Rotorua Sling-Shot Swing

Rotorua Swing from Kieren Moriarty on Vimeo.

These holidays my family and I went up to Rotorua to see my Great Grandad and to have a birthday lunch to celebrate his 92nd birthday at Valentines. After the lunch my cuzzie and I decided to do the Sling Shot Swing at the top of the Gondala. So we ended up paying for the ride to the top of the hill and did the ultimate Sling Shot Swing. It was really cool and fun at the same time, not to forget scary and cold:) This was a really cool experience. This was made on Movie-Maker.
I put a lot of courage into doing this Sling-Shot Swing. Once again, it was very scary and fun. You should try it when you next go to Rotorua and go up the Gondala. I HOPE YOU ENJOY MY VIDEO:)
