Swimming self assessment

The year 5&6s at parkvale school are doing an assessment on our swimming since the start of the year. We  are almost finished, as you can see I can do most of the assessment already so I still have to learn the other stuff at swimming time when we work on it. Swimming is really fun but just cause its fun it doesn't mean you can't be safe, so if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask me. Just click on the chart to see it closer.

Word of the day

After brain food room 20 chose a word from our book that we read while we were eating, we went onto a website called snappy thesaurus put our one word into a box then in the big white box below it exploded with all different meanings for the word DOG [The picture up the top]. We will be doing this hopefully everyday after brain food.

Summer Feelings

                        SUMMER FEELINGS
Have you ever had the feeling of nice cooling wind in your face?
I bet you have, what about the itchy grass, the smell of that compost next door or going outside and being able to smell the summer after being stuck inside for a couple of weeks not doing anything while your watching the rain having the time of its life. What about the sizzling side walk making your feet burn like a sausage on the BBQ? What about going to lie down on the grass and it feels like an electric blanket on low?

Or searching around the rock pools and accidentally slipping into the cold but refreshing water and then all of a sudden you jump cause something nips you on the toe. Then sitting on the grass for a bit, hopping up and people are laughing at you and you think why, is there something on my back, but no your Mum sneaks behind you in embarrassment and wipes the fresh grass clippings off your bum.

Have you ever had the feeling that you’ve been bitten by a big mozzie in the evening at a BBQ, I have. What about the screams and laughter of the children playing on the lawn, what about the splish splash of the waves hitting the beach and getting closer to you as the tide comes in? I have and it feels cold at first. Have you ever had that really annoying screeching in your ear from a group of seagulls fighting over a dead fish that has been washed up on the sizzling sand as it roasts like a turkey on Thanksgiving? THAT WAS SUMMER.

My Rocket, level 6a

  • This rocket shows me what I have learnt and still working on.
  • I feel proud of myself because I have improved heaps since end of year 3.
  • Something I was pleased with was that I know all my times tables now, yet I used to know my 5, 2, 1 and 10 times in year 3.
  • Something I found hard was having to learn how to order numbers to 1 million, but I got there.
  • I am going to start by practising my 6 division cause it will not take me long then I will move onto my reading numbers to 1 million.

My Avatar

It is very important to have an avatar on the Internet. Why, because if someone copies your picture they can change the picture to something bad and when you apply for a job they will search the internet for some of your records and see that you are not suitable for the job.You might not ever get a job.                 http://www.sp-studio.de/index.htm
